Martin Luther King's Dream Has Come True

We are at a historic time in our country. Barack Obama represents the culmination of Kings Dream. We are no longer blinded by color; we have gone beyond judging people by the color of their skin. Barack Obama should be commended for his rise to prominence, his ability to get people talking about important issues and motivate others to make changes and get involved with this countries development and future. Now if Dr. King's dream is truly to be realized Barack Obama and his campaign will gracefully step aside when John McCain is elected president come Election Day. When the American people decide to not elect Barack Obama, it will be on his character, merits and ideas. He is a great Politian, a man who will be a great Senator for years to come. He will push new pieces of legislation through congress and get people discussing the important issues of the day. Ted Kennedy did just this for 40 years. Obama will pick up the scepter and carry on the fight of the radical left. He will assure that the republicans stay on their toes and do not get lazy. Once the Clintons realize they should retire to the sidelines and enjoy their accolades, most of the deserved, Obama will take the throne of the new leader of the Democratic Party. Maybe the others in the part will leave to for a new, but that’s there choice.

Regardless of the outcome 20 years from now, Obama should be commended and remembered for his place and history, and we should all feel proud of how far we have come in this country, regardless of political ideology. Dr King would be very proud of the America of 2008.
